I've read the extracts from 'Persuade Me' on your website and I loved them. I'm already hooked and can't wait to read the published version. (Strange to see you write in the third person.) I love Rick already (especially for calling out Anna's name in his sleep) and dislike Walter. Poor Anna - I felt for her when she said 'I'll go where I'm wanted, then.' Trouble is, every time I read Minty's name, I think about that bloke Minty in East Enders!! Well written as usual, J, and I loved the scene when she was on her way to church with her nephews and the cardboard dragon split open on the pavement with the contents scattering everywhere. It's these little touches in your writing that endears the reader to the characters IMO. Mags, Surrey

I really liked the prologue. We learn that Rick is still hurt over his relationship with Anne. His girlfriend is suspicious of him having someone back in England and I instantly don't like her... I think because I know Rick and Anne should be together. You get lots of info across in just a short space of time. I really like Anne from the start, you know she can be herself around her friends and how stressed her family makes her. I feel a connection when she is hiding the newspapers with the articles of Rick in as I would do the same thing. The way you have written Walter is perfect, he is vain and obsessed with his lineage and comes across as pompous, Love it. The way Anne just agrees to go to her sisters to look after the boys and sort out there harvest baskets is spot on. It tells us she is sort of floating along with her life. And now rick has seen her with two little boys and is going to jump to conclusions, can't wait for his reaction when he finds out she is still single. Over all you have just made me want more. Have you got a relese date yet as I need another injection of modern Austen! Can't wait Lori, Warrington
